Clam Shrimp ( Lynceus brachyurus )

Clam shrimp belong to the Branchiopoda (primeval crustaceans), alongside fairy shrimp and tadpole shrimp.

They have a shell on both sides that protects them.

Clam shrimp filter the water to get their food.

They love Spirulina powder.

If they have laid resting eggs, these can also hatch for years, just like Triops eggs.

Their eggs, which are invisible to the naked eye, look like flying saucers.

They are very easy to keep at room temperature between 18° and 23° C.

Clam shrimp grow to between 0.5 cm and 2 cm in size.

It is best to use rainwater or distilled water for rearing. The container should be between 1 and 10 liters.
Always use a small container of up to 1 liter for setting up.
It takes up to 10 days for them to hatch.
