The Gonochoric type is characterized by approximately 50% of the animals being male – in contrast to the usual parthenogenetic reproduction. The animals grow exceptionally fast and reach sexual maturity after just 2 weeks, after which they lay their own eggs.

Triops Longicaudatus Gonochoric originates from North America and grows to about 6–9 cm long – with a slightly longer tail than the classic Longicaudatus. The hatching time at ideal temperature (approx. 25–28 °C) is around 24–48 hours, after which the rapid growth begins.
